Stephen O’Connor, PhD, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Dr. O’Connor received his Ph.D in Physical Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology in 1995. He has been a serial entrepreneur in the technology focused sector for the past 20 years. He has co-founded and managed more than 10 companies in the past with multiple successful exits, many of which were in the diagnostic sector. He brings to ImpeDx Diagnostics significant experience in technology development, intellectual property, fundraising, business partnering, and company building.
Shramik Sengupta, PhD, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Sengupta received his Ph.D. in Bio-medical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 2004. He is an Associate Professor of Bio-Engineering at the University of Missouri, and the lead inventor of the company’s core technology. Dr. Sengupta also acts as the part-time CTO of ImpeDx Diagnostics. He not only brings detailed technical knowledge of the core technology, but also expertise on adapting the platform for other applications (such as antibiotic resistance profiling of isolated strains, water-borne pathogen testing, etc.).
Kim Mislick, MD, PhD, Co-Founder and Senior Medical Adviser
Dr. Mislick received her Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 1996, and MD from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2000. Dr. Mislick is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She is also the Medical Director of the Northridge Hospital Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Laboratory which performs over 1 million clinical laboratory tests annually. Dr. Mislick is a member of the Northridge Hospital’s Sepsis Task Force. She has served as a consultant to the biotechnology and diagnostics industries for 10 years.
